I want to tell you that the blog on follow through served to re-open communication between myself and a loved one. She had dropped out of communication with me and the blog spoke to the problem, so I bit the bullet and sent it to her along with a horoscope for her that said to get in touch with loved ones. Today I rec'd an email from her asking for a skype call.
I know this puts a smile on your face as it does mine. Thanks for all you do that touches lives thousands of mile apart.

I agree, it is very important to make a first impression count. Depending on the situation, I've experienced in my life that the experience itself surrounding an introduction or first impression can effect the way I present myself. For instance... If I feel like I'm needing to win the favor of someone by the impression I make, I'll try to stay true to my character and really throw in the charm factor. If I'm feeling like I'm being oogled at by someone I don't know who makes me feel uncomfortable, I'll throw in the "bitch" factor in order to influence the person that I'm not as approachable. Both impressions are from me, but one is more genuine to my character then the other. Usually this is based off of a judgement that I make in the situation that governs the way I think the encounter will benefit me.
Either way, First impressions are a way that we use our judgement to influence a situation that we experience. Make it count... and usually we do when we feel it will help us out. Job interviews are one of the best demonstrations of this I think. We know what the outcome will be if we're too casual, so we adjust our behavior for the first impression so that we sell ourselves and try to score the job. Most likely, if the employer liked you, you score the job. If the first impression wasn't so favorable, chances are that you wont be called back for a second chance, or the job. Make it count indeed.

Thanks for the reminder, Cati. I've had a hard couple weeks lately and it's been useful to me to remember that my experience is my experience. Whether I'm experiencing pain or ecstasy or joy or discomfort or just "being" - it's all mine NOW. All of time and space is mine NOW when I'm aware of it. And as short as our tiny relatively insignificant lives are, NOW is pretty short indeed - so I'm reminded today to breathe it all in and enjoy it all I can, because metaphorically tomorrow it will literally be gone forever. Life is indeed amazing! Cheers, Cati!

There are times when my mind is so clouded with crap that I can hardly focus on one thought, or even my own breathing. I see so many people existing around me with the same process, busy busy minds co-existing and we're all racing around living our own experiences. Every once in a great while, I have the pleasure of enjoying the moments when I can slow myself down enough to realize how much I enjoy just enjoying. :) I love being able to be grateful when those times occur and appreciate that others out there share similar experiences. Maybe those small moments, have helped someone in a time when they needed that. I feel that whenever I get to experience those moments, it's my own self that's making the moment for me, and I am grateful to be accountable for that creation. :)
