The Mystery Story Worth Reading

I'm less than halfway though my life story and it's so intensely interesting that I can't take my attention off it.

I’m less than halfway though my life story and it’s so intensely interesting that I can’t take my attention off it.

I’m a real fan of mystery movies. I love Perry Mason and Philip Marlowe. I especially love the “whodunit” type stories. They entertain me all the way to the end because I want to try to figure out whodonit before they show me. Sometimes I actually get it right – and I congratulate myself for it, too. I’m less than halfway though my life story and it’s so intensely interesting that I can’t take my attention off it. So many characters, so many story twists, so much action and intrigue – thoroughly entertaining. I’m enjoying it so much, I don’t want it to end.

What has happened in your life to give it pizzazz? I wonder what would happen with you if you suddenly chose to view your life from the perspective of an intriguing movie – one you would pay top dollar to see – a real blockbuster.

Why do you go see the movies you do now? What kind of movie draws your attention? What would happen if you chose to consider your own life as that kind of story?

It doesn’t help to look at your life in the same way that disinterests you – you may have already done that. If you are not thoroughly entertained with the story now, why would you suddenly be interested in viewing it from the same perspective you did before? With a new perspective, you may find that you really like your life story – maybe find that it is well worth the price of admission.

Can you recall a movie you really loved – maybe one you went to see more than once? Remember it well – see it, hear it, maybe even smell the popcorn you ate… Now, quite suddenly, apply that interest to your life. Tell yourself inside that the movie you really loved is the movie of your life.

It’s not the life you live that makes the difference – it’s how much you like the life you live that matters. And that level of interest is entirely your choice. You choose how much you enjoy the movies you view. You can choose how much you enjoy your own live movie. You don’t have to rewrite it – just re-evaluate how well you like it. Then choose to enjoy it thoroughly. It’s much easier than you might imagine.

Once you enjoy the story, the story becomes that much more enjoyable. Everything works as smoothly as a slide downhill.
